What I Want For All Seasons

December 20, 2014 Leave a comment Go to comments

Christmas is the season where a lot of people give and receive gifts from family and friends.

Over the years, as I have grown older, though unfortunately not necessarily wiser, I’ve come to realize that a lot of the things I want to receive some more during this season are the things that money can never buy.  And such are actually the best things in life: love, peace, freedom, friendship, security, hope, joy.  Fortunately the best things in life are free – and if they aren’t then they should be!

My sincere wish for everyone, both in season and out of season, is for us to have the very best of these things that life can offer.  If you don’t have these yet then may you find them very soon.  And if you already have them then don’t ever let them go!

At the end of the day, Christmas is not about what we give or receive from others, but what we receive from God, His Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and what we give back to Him, which is everything that we are, out of love for Him Who so infinitely loves us so much.

Dearest Lord, please give us more of the most important things that we ought to have in our lives.  But more importantly, please continue to give us Your Son, now and forevermore.
